The brand expects to conclude the 2021 financial year with a revenue run-rate of Rs 70 crore per year, Kapiva’s co-founder, Ameve Sharma, told ET Retail in an interview. Following an increased consumer focus on Ayurvedic products, Kapiva expects this trend to continue and lead the fast-growing brand to profitability.

“With Covid-19, people have become more aware of staying proactively healthy, and preventing illness. And Ayurveda caters very well to such an approach towards health,” said Sharma, ET Retail reported. “Today, people across the world are switching to herbal products and leveraging natural remedies to boost health and wellness... From Rs 300 billion in 2018, the global Ayurvedic market is forecasted to reach Rs 710.87 billion by 2024 as per Globe Newswire, 2020.”

The Indian brand, which currently retails across the country and in the U.S., plans to enter the Canadian and European markets in the coming months. Not only has the pandemic increased the popularity of Ayurveda in India, it has also done so internationally, according to Sharma, presenting lucrative global opportunities for the brand.

During the current financial year, Kapiva plans to expand its India distribution network to have a business to customer presence in more cities. Kapiva has seen its direct-to-consumer channel grow swiftly and expects this to continue.
