DMart’s operational revenue had almost doubled from Rs 5,031.75 crore in the first quarter of the 2022 fiscal, the Press Trust of India reported. The revenue growth in the first quarter of the current fiscal was helped by the fact that the first quarter of the 2022 financial year was heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and this provided a relatively low base. The significant revenue growth shows that the business has recovered from the effects of the pandemic and grown far beyond its pre-pandemic revenue figures.

“Standalone revenue from operations for the quarter (QE) June 30, 2022 stood at Rs 9,806.89 crore,” wrote Avenue Supermarts in a regulatory filing on the Bombay Stock Exchange as part of a business update, the Press Trust of India reported.

DMart currently counts 294 brick-and-mortar stores spread across India and is promoted by entrepreneur Radhakishan Damani and his family. The business retails a multi-brand selection of value personal care, home, apparel, and lifestyle products for the whole family and its main markets include Maharashtra, Delhi NCR, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Telangana among others.
