Avantika University launches fashion design course

Madhya Pradesh’s Avantika University has launched its first ever fashion design course for the 2019 to 2020 academic season.

Avantika University has launched a four-year Bachelor of Design degree course in fashion design, NewsVoir reported. The programme commences with this academic season and will mix practical and theoretical teaching methods.  

“One of the booming fields in the present time is that of fashion designing… the demand for fashion designers is ever-rising,” said Prabodh Mishra, coordinator for fashion design at Avantika University, as reported by NewsVoir. “The field promises a lucrative career to the professionals… This is why we have planned to add a fashion designing course in our offerings in order to provide a perfect learning environment to aspiring fashion designers.”

The course will have a strong focus on experiential learning, said Mishra. Video resources will be incorporated and the course will span over eight semesters. “Fashion designing is a field that required hands-on practice and creative mindset,” said Mishra. “The best way to train future fashion designers is by giving them the opportunity to learn through projects. That is why at Avantika University, we lay impetus on experiential learning.” 

Avantika University is located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The university specialises in design and also offers courses in engineering and architecture.
