“Augmont Gold For All has a commitment to innovation, value and service,” said Augmont Gold For All’s director Ketan Kothari, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website. “We are very proud to hold the record for the Thinnest Gold coin. Investing in gold is intertwined with our social and religious traditions. Gold is an investment that presents the dual benefits of risk reduction and wealth creation.”

The record breaking coin is made from 24 karat pure hallmarked gold and is as thin as foil paper. The coin has a weight of 100 milligrams and a diameter of 2.2 centimetres.

Augmont is also promoting digital gold investment, an investment method which is rising in popularity in India, accelerated by the pandemic and the subsequent boom in jewellery stores embracing e-commerce. Last year, Augmont Gold For All expanded its brick-and-mortar outlets to bolster its presence in cities including Mumbai and Hyderabad to promote its gold investment offerings.
