ATDC hosts certification programme for master trainers

Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) recently hosted orientation, assessment and certification programme for master trainers of implementing agencies by Apparel Made ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) at its Gurgaon centre.

The main goal of the training programme was to upgrade the knowledge base and skill levels of master trainers.  This is the first Recognition Prior Learning (RPL) programme for up skilling of work force in garment, made ups and home furnishing Industry.  

The nominated masters were assessed in domain knowledge, time management, motivational behavior, discipline at workplace, language and literacy and supportive behaviour for leaders.

After certification, the certified master trainers will conduct training programmes in their respective sectors and will give effective training presentations. They will act as mentors for the trainers in that particular region for upgrading and enhancing their knowledge base and skill level.  

“There is a vital requirement of master trainers in ‘Teaching Pedagogy’ while also further developing their Core Competencies in Vocational Training in Apparel. This initiative is a very significant one as it will certainly go a long way in promoting high quality Trainers to help in improving the quality of training, while bringing about overall systemic change,” said Darlie Koshy DG & CEO, ATDC & IAM.

The training was given to 36 nominated master trainers, out of which 25 were selected from ATDC based on their performance in training of trainers (TOT) programmes and remaining masters were from Care College (Jammu), Shapes (Bhopal), SGRS Academic Pvt. Ltd. (Ranchi), Step Ahead Foundation (Hathras, Agra, Hapur).
