Aug 16, 2019
The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, Assocham, will launch a “Startup Elevator Pitch Series” in a dozen Indian cities to give entrepreneurs a platform from which to launch their start-ups.
Assocham has launched a new programme to foster entrepreneurship, especially amongst women and those in Tier 2 and 3 cities, ET Online reported. The trade organisation will hold its first event in the series in Jaipur on September 7 and will encourage early-stage start-ups between zero to two years of business to attend.
With a focus on start-ups from Tier 2 and 3 cities, businesses will have a 300 second opportunity to pitch for funding plans, marketing partners, and technology partners in order to realise their projects across a number of industries. The event will also include the Elevator Programme for start-ups which have been in operation for between two and five years.
After Jaipur, the tour will travel to Pune, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Raipur, Indore, Guwahati, Kochi, Visakhapatnam, New Delhi, Jammu, and Srinagar. Following the pan-India tour, 33 finalists will be selected and will be invited to present their ideas in the capital in February 2020. The top three start-ups will then be selected and will receive funding.
“We will see that the best three startups get funding,” the Assocham National Council on Startups’ chairman Anil Khaitan told Et Online. “Startups or potential startups would be able to network with high net worth individuals and top of the line professionals and generate business or funding opportunities for themselves.”
