Asics opens its biggest retail store in India
The Japanese sports brand Asics has opened its biggest retail store in India at Connaught Place in New Delhi. The two-storey outlet is spread over a total area of 1530 square foot on the ground floor and 1098 square foot on the first floor.
Asics had entered the Indian market in 2015 and currently has 45 stores across the country. The brand considers India as an important market for growth and plans to further strengthen its retail presence in the country with the addition of 20 new stores by 2021.
Commenting on its new store, Rajat Khurana, managing director at Asics India and South Asia, in a statement said: “The new normal has challenged us to constantly strive for growth. With the new Asics concept store, we wish to reinforce our commitment to encourage everyone to adapt to a healthier lifestyle. This is our biggest retail store in India offering our best in class products for varied sports categories.
“We have started our first store in 2015 and within five years we have established our footprint in India and have great expansion plans for future as well,” he added.
Apart from its retail expansion, Asics is also looking to strengthen its online presence by widening its customer base in tier 2, 3, and other smaller cities.
