Asics names Ravindra Jadeja as brand ambassador

Japanese sportswear brand Asics has named India cricketer Ravindra Jadeja as its brand ambassador for the Indian market.

With its association with the cricketer, Asics is looking to further strengthen its reach and make deeper inroads in the sportswear market in India.
 
Commenting on the association, Rajat Khurana, managing director at Asics India, in a statement said: “We are elated to announce our association with the stellar Ravindra Jadeja from the Indian cricket fraternity with Asics India. Through this wonderful partnership, we endeavor to both support and encourage people to experience the transformative power sports has to change one’s life in a positive and immensely meaningful way."

Ravindra Jadeja added: “I am absolutely thrilled to be associated with the world’s leading performance brand. Asics has an incredible track record for helping athletes across sports and enabling them to reach the peak of their sport. Our aim is to improve participation of Indian youth in sports and I am confident of catalyzing a positive change in this direction with Asics.”
 
Asics entered the Indian market in 2015 and currently has over 55 stores across the country. The brand considers India as an important market for growth and plans to further strengthen its retail presence in the country with the addition of 10 new stores this year.
