Asics launches new campaign with cricketers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jaspreet Bumrah
Japanese sports giant Asics has launched campaign 'Pace To Glory' with Indian cricketers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jaspreet Bumrah as it looks to cash in on the popularity of the players during ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
Asics had signed Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar as their first brand ambassadors in the country last year.
The two pace bowlers are part of the world cup squad and Asics is hoping that their strong performances on the field will help the brand widen its customer base and boost sales in India.
The cricketers have been sporting gears from Asics for the World Cup which includes shoes Gel Not Out 300 and Gel Peak 5.
Commenting on the initiative, Rajat Khurana, managing director, Asics India in a statement said, “We are extremely delighted to celebrate #PaceToGlory, thus extending our ‘I Move Me’ campaign. The athletes Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar truly resonate with the brand’s ethos of moving towards glory.”
“As a part of this campaign we look to encourage people to set their own pace and enjoy the happiness by achieving it, and move one step closer to their own pace to glory,” he added.
Asics considers India as an important market for growth and had recently strengthened its online presence with the launch of its exclusive website for the Indian market. It also plans to add around 20 new stores during the current fiscal.
The brand currently has over 30 mono-brand stores and 300 multi-brand stores across metros and tier 2 cities in India.
