Asics expands retail presence in South Indian with new store in Hyderabad

Japanese sportswear brand Asics has strengthened its retail presence in the south Indian market with the opening of a new store in the city of Hyderabad. This is the brand’s 13th store in South India.

The new store in Forum Sujana Mall is spread over an area of 1,100 square feet and houses the brand’s entire running, training collection alongside sports style and performance categories.
 
Asics plans to further strengthen its presence in the Indian market with the addition of 17 new stores with a focus on tier 2, 3 cities across India.

Commenting on the expansion, Rajat Khurana, managing director at Asics India in a statement said, “Our expansion plans will strategically cater to the demands of our consumer both a performance and personalization point of view. South India is a key strategic market for Asics and we will continue to bring the latest in retail experiences for our consumers to help them select the best products for their individual needs with a heightened focus on fitness and health.”
 
“In 2022, we plan to add about 17 stores pan India. We now have a strong presence in the metros and tier 1 cities and look forward to strengthening our presence in tier 2 and tier 3 markets as well,” he added.
 
Asics entered the Indian market in 2015 and currently has over 55 stores across the country and sells on leading e-commerce platforms.
