Japanese sportswear brand Asics has entered the Goa market with its first store in the coastal state.

The new store is located in the largest mall of Goa, Mall De Goa, and was inaugurated by Indian Football national team players Brandon Fernandes, Manvir Singh, and Jackichand Singh.
 
The new concept store is spread over an area of 860 sq ft and house a wide range of running, training and athleisure shoes and apparel for men and women.

Commenting on the new launch, Rajat Khurana managing director at Asics India in a statement said, “Retail is growing at a rapid rate especially in the sports and fitness sector in Goa. This is the right time for us to enter the market to reach out to a wider audience.
 
“We are excited to see how consumers respond when we bring the essence and heritage of performance and style to a city inspired by sports and fashion,” he added.
 
Asics has been rapidly expanding its brick-and-mortar retail presence in India and plans to open 20 new stores during the 2020 financial year.
