Asian Designer Week hosts season 9 in Gurugram

Asian Designer Week held its ninth season from October 4 to 6 at A Dot Ambience in Gurugram and showcased collections from over 40 designers at 12 runway shows.

Flickstree Asian Designer Week, which concluded its Festive Winter Edition 2019 on Sunday, brought together designers from across India for three days of fashion shows. Designer Dhruv Sehgal opened the fashion week and Rosy Ahluwalia was the event’s finale designer who showcased her collection along with a number of up-and-coming designers. 

"It gives us immense pleasure to see our young designers showcase their talent on our platform every season,” said Vivek Rawat, organiser FIO | ADW’s creative director. “This season is very special as we are hosting it for the very first time in Gurugram with our young and budding designers... In additional to the creative side, we are also focusing on educating them about the export and retail opportunities and hence we are also conducting an exclusive buyers meet with them." 

The event also featured a business-to-business marketplace which allowed featured designers to exhibit their work to an audience of buyers etc. to help brands to build networks and expand distribution. The Fashion & Design Conclave presented by Skootr featured a Startup Pitch session to allow young businesses to raise funds and the event was attended by over 100 investors. 

Asian Designer Week launched in October 2015 and takes place under the guidance of the Asian Fashion Design Council. The event’s Winter Edition 2019 was organised by the fashion entertainment business FIO Dot Global Pvt. Ltd. and sponsors included Whizdom Club, Pee Safe, and Nature's Tattva among others.
