Ashima Leena showcases “Heera Noori” at India Runway Week
Ashima Leena presented a collection titled “Heera Noori” on day four of India Runway Week’s first ever digital edition.
Ashima Leena’s collection was created with a nature-inspired colour palette of greens and ivory with a classic traditional wear splash of gold. Textiles including velvet, chiffon, and and printed silk created contrasting textures and illustrative floral designs along with more abstract patterns covered the elegantly tailored garments. The runway looks were styled by Riitika Shingari and presented with a backdrop that resembled a lush jungle.
The collection’s makeup looks were created by Mohit Sahdev using products from the event’s makeup partner Avon Mark and the collection was photographed by members of the Vipin Gaur Academy. The show was directed by Ketan Bhatia with production by Showcraft and jewellery was provided by Akassh K Agarwal.
Leena J Singh, Ashima Leena’s founder and designer, had previously launched the autumn/ winter 2019 collection at Delhi Times Fashion Week in May this year. At the time, Singh posted on her social media that the collection was inspired by the tradition of Mughal Inlay work and mixing design heritage with contemporary silhouettes.
India Runway Week was organised by the Indian Federation for Fashion Development and ran from September 12 to 15. The event posted its 35 featured designers’ collections as a continuous feed on Instagram, allowing he public immediate access and popularising the event.
