Womenswear brand Ashdeen launched its new collection ‘Memories on Cloth’ at Ensemble on Friday, the multi-brand boutique announced on Facebook. The brand’s designer and founder Ashdeen Z. Lilaowala was on hand to explain his inspiration for the collection and offer stying tips to shoppers.

Ashdeen first launched its summer/ resort collection on the runway at Lakmé Fashion Week in Mumbai. The collection showcases traditional embroidered Gara sarees as well as intricately embellished fusion wear garments such as kimonos, gowns, and palazzo pants. Textile evening bags also feature delicate embroidery and some were layered over each other on the runway to add a touch of surrealism to the collection.

Ashdeen Z. Lilaowala launched Ashdeen in October 2012 in New Delhi as a hand embroidered saree brand inspired by Oriental and Persian hand embroidery techniques. The brand retails from its dedicated e-commerce store which takes bespoke orders and also has a presence in a number of multi-brand boutiques.
