Aseem Kapoor to launch first brick-and-mortar store

Luxury women’s ethnic and fusion wear brand Aseem Kapoor will open the doors to its first flagship store to date. The conceptual retail space is located in Gurugram.

Aseem Kapoor will launch ‘AK Studio’ as a store to house his brand’s selection of womenswear and accessories made with heritage textiles and traditional embellishments, the brand announced on Instagram. The brand shared photos of a bare, white space which will soon be decorated to showcase the brand’s identity.

“We are so excited to share the news with you all as we take a step forward in our beautiful journey,” Aseem Kapoor announced on Facebook on June 13. “Presenting to you our new studio which would not have been possible without the love and support we got from all our patrons. The studio will be open for our clients soon. We hope to keep making you happy with our work.”

Aseem Kapoor launched his eponymous brand in 2020 after working for couturier Tarun Tahiliani for 15 years as head of design. Kapoor launched his first collection ‘Sleti’ (meaning ‘slate’) for autumn/winter 2020, which blended fusion wear silhouettes with rich hues and heritage embellishments. The designer has gone on to establish an eclectic, relaxed, and elegantly bohemian style with subsequent collections.
