Arvind Ltd partners with Purifi Global to reduce textile waste

Textiles manufacturer Arvind Ltd has got into a joint venture (JV) partnership with US-based Purfi Global LLC to combat textile waste going to landfills.

The partnership will see an investment of around Rs 200-250 crore to set up fibre rejuvenation facility near one of Arvind’s manufacturing facilities in India.
Arvind Ltd will use Purfi’s technology to process textile waste like white cotton, coloured cotton, denim and synthetics into virgin-like fibres for reuse.
Commenting on the partnership, Punit Lalbhai, executive director at Arvind Ltd in a statement said, “This partnership will not only provide an innovative solution to deal with the issue of textile waste but will also strengthen our motto of being fundamentally right. We look forward to working with these technologies to fuel the next set of growth in textile manufacturing and at the exceptionally less environmental impact.”

Arvind is a textile-to-retail conglomerate with a strong presence in the country’s textiles and apparel segments.
