Arpita Mehta to put a contemporary twist on cultural heritage at Lakme Fashion Week

Designer Arpita Mehta will present her winter/ festive collection “Trentradition” at Lakme Fashion Week on August 24 for a modern bridal showcase.

This Saturday Arpita Mehta will present a collection of traditional and bridal wear on the runway at Lakme Fashion Week. For Trentradition, Mehta will present a modern take on classic bridal wear by incorporating new motifs and a new signature floral print. The collection will also feature dramatic, large-scale “Fan Flower” embroidery as well as festive Ahir embroidery, Mehta posted on her social media. It is the innovative mix of prints and embroidery that will create a subtle update for this season’s brides to be.

“This collection is a manifestation of a rich, cultural heritage with a contemporary twist,” wrote Mehta on her social media about her upcoming collection. “Striking the perfect amalgamation of glamour, beauty, bohemian chic and festive celebration.”  

Mehta will showcase her collection on the runway as part of the Blockbuster Brides showcase which will also feature designer Anushree Reddy. Lakme Fashion Week runs from August 21 to 25 at the St Regis in Mumbai and is sponsored by Lakme, IMG Reliance, and Nexa. The fashion week celebrates its 20th birthday this year.
