ARCH to host Fashion Colloquium 2020 in January

Jaipur’s ARCH College of Design & Business will host an international research conference on the fashion industry, “Fashion Colloquium 2020”, from January 26 to 30, 2020 with a special focus on sustainability.

ARCH will host the third edition of the Fashion Colloquium conference in January. The event will bring together academics, the media, and industry professionals to discuss the global future of fashion. The conference will have a special focus on sustainability, a pressing issue for the global fashion industry in the face of climate change.
The conference will host a design competition where designers will submit creations inspired by Indian heritage drapes and silhouettes and Indian traditional textiles. Selected entries will be displayed at an exhibition and fashion show at the event. The conference will also feature workshops, speaker sessions, paper presentations, installations, and demonstrations, according to ARCH’s press release.
The conference will have five main focus areas, Myth to Meaning- Narratives Towards Sustainable Futures; Disruption and Innovation- Academics and Industry; New Technologies and New Paradigms- Stories of Transformation; Change Makers- New Fashion Business Models; and Fashion Governance in a Local Context.
The Fashion series has involved a number of international fashion institutions in its past events including the London College of Fashion, Domus Academy in Milan, the Institute Francais de la Mode in Paris, and the The New School for Design.
