Aranyani eyes international expansion, holds exhibition in New York

Aranyani recently travelled to New York, US for an ‘Aranyani Discovery Event’ as the luxury handbag business gears up to roll out its international retail expansion.

Aranyani recently held a handbag showcase at the Indian Consulate in New York attended by numerous officials of the City of New York, the brand announced on Facebook. The shoppable exhibition not only gave the city’s shoppers their first chance to browse the handbags in person, it was also intended to boost the brand’s profile in the US and promote Indian exports in general as part of the Union Government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign. 
 
“Aranyani symbolises the best of India coming to New York, combining the best of both the traditional and the modern worlds,” said the Consulate General of India in a statement following the event, Elle India reported. 

The handbags on display were part of Aranyani’s latest collection for 2022 which include heritage craft techniques such as gold gilding, hand embroidery, hand painting, and setting precious gemstones. Motifs include delicate butterflies and ornate filigree. Aranyani also recently travelled to the UAE for a pop-up shopping event to mark its launch at multi-brand outlet Tryano Store. 
 
The brand has also launched a number of sustainable initiatives to make the business more eco-friendly. Aranyani plans to switch to 100% chrome-free leather by 2023, is already plastic-free, and aims to achieve zero waste by 2025.

Aranyani’s atelier is based in Bengaluru and the brand retails from its dedicated e-commerce store. Each Aranyani bag features a QR code with the name of the artisans who manufactured it and information about its production process.
