Apparel Sourcing Week launches in Bengaluru, promotes India-Bangladesh trade links
Apparel Sourcing Week launched in Bengaluru on July 1 with over 10,000 brands from over 15 countries and featured numerous initiatives to strengthen India-Bangladesh bilateral trade.
The trade show featured an array of apparel, textile, and fashion technology from across Asia and is designed to make Asia the world’s apparel sourcing hub, the organisers announced in a press release. Apparel brands, direct-to-customer labels, retailers, and manufacturers came together to showcase their latest products and technologies and network to forge business deals, with a focus on India-Bangladesh ties.
“Enhanced cooperation between India and Bangladesh can go a long way in strengthening their position in the apparel industry and making South Asia the hub for apparel and textile innovations,” said Bangladesh’s High Commissioner H.E Muhammad Imran at the event’s inauguration. “I am happy to note that efforts are being made to boost cooperation between the two countries, and am confident that ASW 2022 will play a key role in this.”
The trade show is organised by fashion media and events business Apparel Resources and describes itself as, “Asia’s premier apparel sourcing event”. The trade show featured a range of seminars on topics including ‘Reinventing Physical Retail’, ‘Sourcing in Times of Industry 4.0’, and ‘Metaverse’ among others.
“In a short span of time, ASW has become the most influential and highly recognised fashion business and apparel sourcing platform in Asia,” said Apparel Resources director Mayank Mohindra in a press release. “Fast emerging as the proving ground for breakthrough technologies and global innovators, ASW is creating newer opportunities for world's biggest brands to do business and meet new partners, ensuring that the sharpest innovators hit the stage.”
