AP Group acquires distribution rights for Esprit watches in India

Mumbai-based AP Group has acquired the distribution rights for global fashion brand Esprit’s watches segment in the Indian market. It plans to launch Esprit smartwatches in the country by next year.

AP Group sees huge growth potential for the Esprit brand in India and expects to generate revenue of around Rs 140 crore from the brand over the next two years.
 
The company will focus on metros, tier 2, 3 cities and target the masses to fuel the growth of Esprit smartwatches in India.

“The focus will be on metro cities with penetration in tier 2 and 3 cities. Our distribution will be divided online and offline with a focus on online distribution. The products will be targeted at the masses, with a little edge of premiumness,” Adi Shroff, chief operating officer at the AP Group told Businessline.
 
“We are doing our R&D on the smartwatches. They will be launched in India by mid-2022. The watches will focus on technology, fashion, and quality,” he added.
 
Esprit watches will be available across large-format stores such as Shopper’s Stop, Lifestyle, Helios stores, and traditional watch dealers. Esprit watches will also be available on e-commerce platforms such as Myntra, Flipkart, Ajio, and Tata Cliq.
