Anushree Reddy opens flagship store in Mumbai

Anushree Reddy has opened a flagship store in Bandra, Mumbai as the eponymous designer celebrates 10 years in the Indian fashion industry. The store opened with an exclusive bridal wear collection for Mumbai and a more comprehensive menswear offering. 

The store opened with ‘The Bombay Edit’, an exclusive line with new prints depicting flowers, lizards, and snakes, Reddy announced on Instagram. Alongside new bridal wear and occasion wear options, the store offers a complete menswear line and a resort wear collection for women. 
 
The Bandra store features eclectic décor from Reddy’s travels over the years to create an artistic, reflective atmosphere. Reddy sourced antiques from Kerala and stones from from the Telangana village of Thunder to complement her handcrafted garments and accessories. 

“Moving to Mumbai was at the top of my bucket list of things to do as part of my 10-year anniversary celebration plans,” Reddy told Elle India. “The city and I have always been in love, it exudes a spirit that is really unique. It is what initially drew me to the city because I wanted to step outside my comfort zone. After some months of searching, I finally found the ideal spot, and I never looked back. I didn’t come in with the intention of signing; I just happened to be passing by, and it clicked. It was the energy. It was just the atmosphere and setting. Compared to other cities, I believe Bombay in general is a little ahead of its time when it comes to fashion. So that’s something that really motivated me to start my own business here. It encourages you to work a little harder. That served as its driving force.”
 
Reddy launched her eponymous brand in Hyderabad 10 years ago and has become known for popularising pastel hues in the traditionally red bridal wear market. The brand also retails men’s occasion wear, available in a similarly ethereal colour palette.
