The Anupamaa Dayal spring/summer 2018 runway show took place at the NSIC Grounds in Okhla, New Dehli at 8:30pm on October 11 and was scheduled in the same slot as designer Wendell Rodricks.

Dayal’s collection had a seaside theme as models wore crowns made of real seashells and had natural yet romantic makeup paired with flowing, natural hair. This was reflected in many of the cotton prints, the most striking of which being an oversized fish print that was found on sarees and dresses in bright or pastel hues. Along with the eclectic printed cotton that Dayal is known for, fringe and tassels were also major themes in the collection. Loose shapes and mix and match prints gave the collection a fun and youthful feel and, although daywear featured heavily in the show, night-time looks were also shown although they retained the whimsical irreverence of the more casual designs.

Anupamaa Dayal launched her eponymous label in 2004 and she was awarded the Designer of the Year award at the Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female Awards in 2011. The brand works on reviving traditional, rare hand-printing and needle-craft techniques from India that are on the verge of extinction. The brand operates its own e-commerce store and this also houses its homeware line.
