Antimicrobial finishes emerge as a strong avenue for textile chemical manufacturers: Messe Frankfurt
The pandemic has caused a significant increase in demand for textile chemicals, especially antimicrobial finishes, which represent a strong avenue for manufacturers, according to trade show organiser, Messe Frankfurt.
“The future of textile chemical segment looks promising,” said Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd’s executive director and board member Raj Manek, in a press release.
“Year-on-year the application of textile chemicals have continued to evolve and expand into different textile sectors. The recent development in antimicrobials has played a key part in augmenting the durability of textiles, garments and providing stronger protection against contaminants.”
In recent years, apparel and home furnishings have driven the growth in demand for textile chemicals in India, according to Manek. The pandemic has greatly accelerated this trend over the past few financial quarters and recent technological developments in antimicrobials have enabled the augmentation of textile durability, an attribute in great demand.
“Year-on-year the application of textile chemicals have continued to evolve and expand into different textile sectors,” said Manek. “The recent development in antimicrobials have played a key part in augmenting the durability of textiles and providing stronger protection against contaminants. The future of textile chemical segment looks promising and through the platform of Techtexil India, Messe Frankfurt India will aid industry players to explore new business opportunities and further expand their potential.”
Techtextil India will hold its first hybrid edition, featuring both online and physical options for businesses, from November 25 to 27, 2021. Organiser Messe Frankfurt aims to use to event to bring together the textile industry and boost growth in the sector.
