On Wednesday, Anju Modi made her digital showcase debut and presented a dreamy aesthetic that was at once traditional and modern. Sindoori began with models lounging by a leafy pool and sitting amongst the foliage surrounded by sitars and draped fabric.

“My new couture collection, Sindoori, is a celebration of the bride in all her beauty and intriguing complexities,” Modi wrote about her collection, on her brand’s Facebook page. “Her innocence, her mischief and her passion come together in shades of ivory, ochre and deep reds for a collection that is about joy and a surrender to love.”

A model dancing in a pool of water showed off the floaty white layers of Modi’s designs as she placed flower petals into the water. As the film progressed, more colour was introduced into the collection and the attire became more formal signifying the journey of a bride towards her big day.

Modi collaborated with Krishna Jewellers for jewellery and opted for natural style hair and makeup. The film concluded with the models dressed in sparkling red outfits, dancing between fabric decorated with sindoor.
