Anju Modi holds exclusive collection preview with Tyaani by Karan Johar in Mumbai

On March 28, Anju Modi held an exclusive preview of her spring 2019 collection at Verbena in Kamala Mills in Mumbai. The designer teamed up with the jewellery brand Tyaani by Karan Johar for the event.

Modi and Johar both presented their latest collections and gave customers their first glimpse at Verbana on Thursday. 

Modi recently showcased her “Raasleela” collection as part of the Artisan Speak handloom showcase organised by the Ministry of Textiles and the Fashion Design Council of India. The collection was “inspired by the traditional miniature paintings, sculptures and poetry of the time celebrating the eternal love of Radha & Krishna,” wrote Modi on her social media. 

Anju Modi launched her eponymous brand in 1990 and has also worked as a costume designer for various films over the years. The brand has flagship stores in New Delhi and Hyderabad and creates opulent traditional wear. 

Tyaani by Karan Johar was launched in November 2016 and is based in Mumbai. The jewellery brand creates tradition-style pieces and specialises in Polki, fashion, and fusion style designs. The brand has also recently taken part in the Dhoom Dham Trunk Show and the Bandra 190 fashion exhibition.
