Known for her traditional, craft-driven aesthetic, Anju Modi was on classic form this season with her digital presentation for ‘The Eternal Story’ which saw the designer showcase a rainbow of metallic textiles and hand embroidered details. Models danced in a flurry of rose petals and lounged on swing seats creating a festive, jovial atmosphere to compliment the collection’s joyful and rich-hued clothing. As models ran about the traditional-style house, the fluid movement of chiffon veils and swaying of heavy skirts created a dynamic sense of opulent beauty.

Three generations of women danced together and dressed a bride-to-be in bold, traditional jewellery by Archana Aggarwal Timeless Jewellery, the official jewellery partner of India Couture Week. The digital presentation celebrated the idea of clothing and jewellery as heirlooms and part of a wider cultural and family legacy. As the fashion film concluded, text read, “the memories live on and are cherished forever.”

Organised by the Fashion Design Council of India in association with the Hindustan Times, India Couture Week’s second ever digital edition brought together 19 Indian couture labels. The event ran online from August 23 to 29 across multiple social media platforms.
