Anita Dongre to hold San Jose Trunk Show in US for festive collection

Anita Dongre will hold a US trunk show in San Jose, California, to showcase her latest collection of occasion wear and both women’s and men’s ready-to-wear in the city at the Hotel Fairmont on November 2.

Anita Dongre will bring her latest collection “Jaipur Love” to San Jose this Saturday to launch it in the city for the first time. The one-day pop-up shop will give San Jose’s shoppers a chance to see the collection in person and bring Dongre’s designs to the West Coast. 

Jaipur Love features bright red lehengas, kurta sets, and sarees embellished with gold embroidery and ornate floral patterns to create a classic Indian wedding aesthetic. The collection, for both men and women, also features magentas for more youthful looks and deep hued velvet pieces for winter parties. Dongre had previously launched the collection at her New York flagship store earlier this month for the winter festive season.

For her festive collection this year, Dongre also created a limited edition Dhaaga collection which took a year to produce, the designer shared on Facebook. The collection was designed to create local employment opportunities for rural Indian women who work creating hand embroidered and hand spun textiles. The collection featured 20 designs and was created by the women of the Self-Employed Women’s Association.

Anita Dongre has two flagship stores in New York in addition to her stores across India. The brand is headquartered in Navi Mumbai and creates vegan, sustainable fashion with the aim of preserving Indian heritage crafts and creating employment opportunities for rural women.
