Anita Dongre awarded TieCon ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur’ prize

Sustainable designer Anita Dongre was awarded the ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur’ prize for fashion and lifestyle at the entrepreneurial leadership conclave Tiecon in Mumbai.

 
Anita Dongre, who has opened stores across India and in the U.S. for her various clothing and lifestyle brands, was awarded for her innovation in the fashion industry at the recent Tiecon Awards in Mumbai, the designer announced on Facebook. This year, the conclave’s theme was ‘The Decade of Start-Ups: Kickstarting The Future’ and the annual seminar event aimed to forecast the future of startups and encourage leadership in business and entrepreneurship.
 
“To receive the ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur - Fashion and Lifestyle’ award is an honour,” said Dongre about the award on her eponymous brand’s Facebook page.

“To receive it from none other than Mr. Narayan Murthy is truly humbling. A giant in his field and beyond, Mr. Murthy is an entrepreneur who transformed the business landscape, laying down lessons in leadership that are both universal and aspirational. His emphasis on good governance, compassionate capitalism, and unwavering ethics are values which are inspirational to me. Meeting him, and receiving this honour through him, is a moment that will stay with me.”
 
Anita Dongre also spoke at the conclave about her fashion and lifestyle brand and its sustainable business practices. Other fashion industry speakers at the conclave included Aza Fashions’ director Devangi Parekh, Myglamm CMO Malaika Mahatamey, and actor and entrepreneur Neha Dhupia.
