Anita Dongre opens first store in Chandigarh

Leading designer Anita Dongre has entered the northern city of Chandigarh, with the opening of her first standalone designer store in the city.

The store is located at the Elante Mall and will house a select collection of Anita Dongre’s menswear, womenswear and silver jewellery.

The men's collection includes pocket squares, kurtas, bandis, and sherwanis, while the women's will have foil lehengas, printed kaftans, and dresses.

Anita Dongre is expecting strong sales at its new store during the ongoing wedding season in north India.

Commenting on the store opening, Anita Dongre in a statement said: “We are very excited to bring Anita Dongre to Chandigarh in this beautiful space at Elante Mall. We have always received so much love from this dream city and I'm hoping now more people will have a chance to enjoy our designs. "

Anita Dongre has over 1,000 brick-and-mortar retail locations in India and also has two flagship stores in the U.S., both in New York.

The designer pursues sustainable fashion and works with female crafts clusters in India to help train women and preserve craft traditions.
