Anavila to hold exclusive showcase at Raintree in Bengaluru

Anavila will present its latest collection ‘Dabu’ at an exclusive showcase at Raintree in Bengaluru on March 25. The shoppable exhibition will launch the designs in the city after they were recently shown on the runway at Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India in Mumbai.  

“This collection is in essence a play of six yards sari and how it can be manipulated with volume,” wrote Anavila about the collection on Facebook. “Sometimes free flowing, sometimes restricted, it stirs the imagination of the wearer and her relationship to a 5,000-year-old drape. The artistry lies in the twisting, knotting and layering of the drapes which gives each one a unique shape and silhouette.”
 
The collection features sarees in a variety if hues, from lemon yellow to indigo, and also includes a number of off white options with simple floral designs. The collection celebrates the art of Indian weaving, something the brand has become known for.  

The brand also launched a campaign for the collection with photography and creative direction by Pranoy Sarkar. By playing with deep shadows and rich hues, Sarkar evokes a thoughtful atmosphere and highlights the sarees’ drapes. 
 
Anavila Mishra launched her eponymous brand in 2012 and it has become known for its linen and handloom sarees. Anavila retails from its dedicated e-commerce store, flagship store in Mumbai, studio in Gurugram, and multi-brand retailers across India and online.
