This year Anand Kabra was chosen to open IBFW and kick off the week with his resort 2018 collection. The show took place at the Marriott Hotel and Spa, Goa, and was sponsored by Volkswagen, Como, Gio Collection, and Corona Sunsets.

Kabra’s show focused on ethnic traditional wear intended for festive occasions. Lehengas dominated the show but evening dresses also featured as well as eveningwear sets. Silhouettes were floaty and long, flowing skirts were paired with tailored crop tops or equally floaty capes. Necklines were embellished to look like statement necklaces and models added to the glamour of the show with smoky eyes and purposely dishevelled hair. The main colours of the collection were red, white, and black and the main fabrics were chiffon and satin.

Anand Kabra launched his eponymous label in 2001 after graduating from the London College of Fashion in 1997. Kabra started showing at fashion weeks in India in 2006 and he is now based in Hyderabad.

The brand’s collections can be found at select multi-brand boutiques throughout India such as Ogaan in Delhi and Collage in Chennai and online on Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop.
