Anamika Khanna to open FDCI x Lakme Fashion week with AK-OK, launch new menswear offering

The Fashion Design Council of India x Lakme Fashion Week will open with a runway show by designer Anamika Khanna for her youth-oriented brand AK-OK on October 12. The designer will also take the occasion to launch a new menswear offering.

“It’s an absolute dream to be presenting the showcase at the Fountain of Joy at Jio World Centre,” said designer Anamika Khanna in a press release. “The Jio World Centre with its state-of-the-art infrastructure is changing the landscape of events held in India and its world class amenities are beyond compare.” 
 
Khanna will present a her latest AK-OK collection which will also include a dedicated menswear launch, according to Khanna. The future-oriented brand will increasingly offer menswear styles, inspired by the inputs of Khanna’s sons Vishesh and Viraj. 

“We intend to expand our categories into menswear, loungewear, home, accessories and much more,” said Khanna about her future plans for the brand. “We’re also excited to expand spatially with more stores, and geographically into the international markets, expanding our universe infinitely.”

Anamika Khanna partnered with retail giant Reliance Brands Limited to expand AK-OK in the Indian market. Known for her traditional wear couture, Khanna turned her attention to Gen Z and a more experimental aesthetics with her ready-to-wear offering.
