Diksha Khanna’s collection, titled “Pine Breeze” mixed ivory, white, and navy hues to create a pure and fresh aesthetic. Handloom textiles featured as sarees, dresses, and separates and blue tie-dye panels created the effect of water. The collection mixed traditional wear classics with modern, wearable staples.

Nidhi Yasha, founded in 2014, presented a delicately feminine collection with layers chiffon ruffles creating a fluffy cloud-like effect. Blouses with long skirts and maxi dresses resembled watercolour paintings with their soft colour palette and theatrical tops paired with shorts added drama. Certain abstract textile ruffles resembled oversized corsages and the combination of chiffon and silk made for a romantic collection.

Amita Gupta Sustainable’s spring/ summer 2020 collection also had a balanced mix of traditional wear silhouettes and experimental, fusion designs. Stripes and denim added a modern touch with bodices and voluminous trousers and pastel hued cottons featured on elegant, breezy kurtas.

Models wore painterly white lines on their eyes with natural-styled hair or braids for all three shows. The make up looks were created with Lotus Herbals products, from the title sponsor of the show.

Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week began on October 9 and will run until October 13. The event is organised by the Fashion Design Council of India and is currently being held at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium at India Gate in New Delhi. This season, the fashion week’s theme is “My Fashion My Tribe”.
