Amita Gupta contrasts denim with Zari at LMIFW

Designer Amita Gupta presented a collection of denim, silk, and Zari on day one of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week.

On March 13, LMIFW’s first day and one dedicated to sustainable fashion, Amita Gupta presented her autumn/ winter traditional and fusion wear collection. Models wore deep hued sarees patterned with stripes as well as lehenga sets and floor-length dresses.

The collection featured denim garments layered with metallic textiles, check patterns, and stripes. Pleated bell sleeves and high necklines mixed with floor-length skirts and embellished belts. Colours included dark blue, beige, wine, and different shades of green and sarees were made in thick textiles for the winter season.

Amita Gupta is based in New Delhi and runs three labels: Amita Gupta Couture, Amita Gupta Pret, and Amita Gupta Sustainable. The designer’s signatures are stripes and loose yet structured fusion wear.

LMIFW is organised by the Fashion Design Council of India and runs biannually. The event began on March 13 at the Jawaharlal Stadium in New Delhi and will conclude on March 16. Following the runway shows, the FDCI will host a Designer Showroom that will allow the public to shop the designers featured in the fashion week from March 17 to 18.
