Models explored the grand, palatial grounds at UdaiVilas wearing statuesque gowns and lehengas for Amit GT’s latest digital couture presentation on Thursday. Inspired by a return of hope following the darkness of the pandemic, the collection featured the brand’s signature exuberant bustles and trains, played with opulent textures, and had an ethereal aesthetic.

Delicate hand embroidery and bead-work depicted natural elements including flowers, constellations, snowfall, and dew drops. The collection’s colour palette was as diverse as the colours in nature itself with occasion wear every hue from deep red to pastel blue and mauve to emerald and aubergine.

“This year I did sari drapes as well as sari dresses, earlier such ensembles would be seen only on the red carpet, but now they are being worn at every Indian wedding,” said Amit GT about his collection, the Fashion Design Council of India reported.

India Couture Week is organised by the Fashion Design Council of India in association with the Hindustan Times. The fashion week first went online last year due to the pandemic and this season its its second digital edition. India Couture Week runs until August 29 and featured a total of 19 brands.
