Amethyst aims to support up-and-coming designers with its GenNext showcase - Amethyst

The showcase runs until April 12 and features designers Hiral Jajal (Hiro), Kunaal Kyhaan (Koytoy), Anugrah Chandra (KoAi), and Rudraksh Dwivedi (Rudraksh Dwivedi) in a dedicated segment of Amethyst’s store, Amethyst announced in a press release. The GenNext programme was presented by the International Institute of Fashion Design at the recent Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI fashion week in Mumbai and the contest is designed to find and support the next wave of innovative fashion designers in India.

“Amethyst is delighted to host GenNext On The Road in Chennai,” said Amethyst’s owner Kiran Rao in a press release. “We appreciate Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI’s effort in inspiring GenNext designers to take India’s fashion story forward. We look forward to seeing the works of KoAi, Hiro, Koytoy and Rudraksh Dwivedi.”

Following the Chennai showcase at Amethyst, the GenNext exhibition will travel to Kolkata to be exhibited at contemporary fashion venue Bombain. The GenNext programme has mentored over 300 designers in India over the years including now household names in Indian fashion including Rahul Mishra, Masaba Gupta, and Aneeth Arora among others.

“We are thrilled to have launched the fourth edition of GenNext On The Road,” said Rise Fashion and Lifestyle’s head Jaspreet Chandok. “It is a platform that gives young designers the opportunity to engage with diverse consumers from across the country and address their needs and preferences first-hand. It also gives young designers the experience to understand the commercial side of the business, thereby prepping their brands for the future. We thank the multi designer stores for partnering with us in the initiative.”
