Over the past six years, Amazon India has reported facilitating $3 billion worth of shipments of Indian products and aims to reach a total of exports from India with a value of $10 billion by 2025.

Amazon aims to export more products from India to global markets

Amazon plans to remain bullish on exporting goods from India to the global market, the business announced on February 9, the Press Trust of India reported. In 2021, the business launched the Amazon Global Selling Propel to support businesses looking to export their goods from India which is contributing to rising shipments.

“We look at a billion dollars as yardstick to measure how a certain program within Amazon is growing,” said Amazon India’s director for global trade Abhijit Kamra, the Press Trust of India reported. “On export, it took as three years to get [the] first billion dollar, 18 months to get to [the] second and 12 months to get the third billion dollar. This is all Made in India product.”

Amazon India has also launched the second season of its Propel Startup Accelerator program which is designed to help increase exports and turn Indian businesses into global brands. The business will choose up-and-coming Indian brands and provide them grants and Amazon Web Services credit as well as connect them with venture capital firms to help them attract investments.

“We saw great interest, ideas and entrepreneurial spirit in the inaugural season of the program, and we are excited to now bring the season 2,” said Amazon’s senior vice president for India and emerging markets, Amit Agarwal, ET Bureau reported. “It is part of our commitment to make exports easier for businesses of all sizes and enable $10 billion in e-commerce exports from India by 2025.”
