Amazon is betting big on the Ayurveda segment for growth in the international markets with plans to open a dedicated store for all Indian manufacturers.
Amazon has witnessed strong sales in the herbal and beauty segment over the years. It is now looking to explore new international territories and take Indian sellers to the global market under its global selling initiative.
“Herbal and beauty is the biggest category on Amazon. It offers a big opportunity for Ayurvedic product manufacturers. B2C e-commerce is the best way for Ayurvedic manufacturers to establish presence," Rachit Jain, head consumables category global selling at Amazon India said, at the global Ayurveda meeting 2019.
“There are more than 50,000 global sellers on Amazon from India. The products of the store to be opened will have to comply with the regulations in the countries in which they are to be sold. Manufacturers desirous of selling on Amazon will have to submit details to ensure that only quality products are listed on the site," Jain added.
Amazon’s global selling program has been witnessing a steep rise in the number of sellers of late. Currently, Amazon has over 30,000 sellers who sell their products globally through Amazon.
