Amazon will formally unveil its largest global campus yet in Hyderabad next week with Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as it also expands its largest India fulfilment centre in the area.
Amazon’s largest global campus is now ready to be formally inaugurated, sources told TNN. The campus is situated on a 10-acre parcel of land at Nanakramguda, Hyderabad, and includes a new campus building over 15 storeys high. The campus now measures around three million square feet, including a one million square-foot parking area.
The sources told TNN that the campus has been running since mid-July but is not yet fully occupied. The formal inauguration will be hosted next week by Minister Rao as well as Amazon's global real estate and facilities director John Schoettler and Amazon India’s senior vice president and country manager Amit Agarwal. Following the inauguration, the campus building is expected to increase its employee total from 7,000 at present to around 9,000 by the end of September, according to the sources.
Amazon India is also in the process of expanding its largest India fulfilment centre, also in Hyderabad. The centre, located at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, will be expanded from four lakh square feet to 5.8 lakh square feet by mid-2020.
