All sellers onboarding the Amazon platform between January 15 and April 14 this year will be eligible for 50 percent waiver on referral fees for 60 days.

The initiative by Amazon is expected to help businesses reduce their upfront costs and allow them to grow their business in the competitive e-commerce market.

Commenting on the initiative, Amit Nanda, director selling partner services at Amazon India in a statement said, “As the new year begins, we are thrilled to announce a 50 percent referral fee waiver for e-commerce' businesses on Amazon India. We believe that with the right support, small businesses can grow.”

“This waiver is in line with our commitment to digitise 10 million Indian small businesses by 2025 by making it more cost-effective to start their online journey,” he added.

Amazon India claims to have more than 1.2 million sellers that include local stores, traditional weavers, artisans, women entrepreneurs as well as start-ups, and digital entrepreneurs.
