Amazon India sees festive sale kick off with strong response
During the first 24 hours of its largest online sale event of the year, The Great Indian Festive Sale, e-commerce giant Amazon India has see strong sales surpassing internal expectations.
“If I restrict myself to commenting on the first 24 hours of The Great Indian Festive Sale it is like last year, just the scale and size of it is better,” said Amazon India’s vice president and country manager Manish Tiwary,” ET Now reported. “There are some reports about consumer sentiment being muted. We have not experienced that on the first day of the sale, like I said it is slightly ahead of even our internal expectations.”
Amazon India launched its festive sale on September 22 and offer on the first day was exclusively available for Amazon Prime members. The sale proper then began on September 23.
One of the business’ main aims with the sale is to acquire new customers and new Prime members. The business has thus far been successful on both fronts, according to Tiwary.
The Great Indian Festive Sale covers a wide range of product categories including fashion, electronics, and lifestyle goods. The sale is powered by Samsung Galaxy M and Iqoo and SBI credit and debit card users can avail additional discounts on sale items, Amazon India announced on Facebook.
