On August 31, Amazon India announced that it is enhancing its Delivery Service Partner programme and will provide its technology, logistics, and hiring partners with greater support and other features.

Amazon's upgraded DSP programme will create job and business opportunities in India

The business has onboarded 40 new partners for its revamped DSP programme and plans to continue to expand it across India, ET Bureau reported. India follows the U.S., Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Brazil, and the Netherlands to launch the revamped programme. Amazon has invested over $1 billion (Rs 6,652.8 crore) in the global programme thus far.

“We launched the DSP programme in 2015 and we already have more than 300 partners working with us,” Akhil Saxena, Amazon’s vice president for customer fulfilment (APAC, MENA and LATAM), told the Press Trust of India. “India is the 11th country where Amazon is rolling out the revamped programme, under which we will offer newer services, including allocation of an account manager to the DSP partner and value-added tools for hiring, legal and technological support.”

The new, ameliorated DSP programme will give logistics entrepreneurs opportunities for rapid growth, according to Amazon. It will also create further employment opportunities.

“We want to enable aspiring entrepreneurs, even with little to no delivery experience, to develop and launch their own delivery businesses,” said Saxena. “These new small business owners are supported by the backing of Amazon's more than 20 years of operational experience, technology, and a suite of exclusively negotiated services and assets required to deliver Amazon packages safely and successfully.”
