Amazon India expands presence in Vikhroli, Mumbai with new office lease
E-commerce giant Amazon India has signed an agreement with Godrej Group’s Godrej Fund Management to lease new office space in Vikhroli, Mumbai as the U.S.-owned business continues to expand in India.
Amazon India has entered into an agreement to lease close to 2.6 lakh square feet of office space in commercial office building Godrej Two, ET Bureau reported. The agreement includes a lease and an option to lease additional space within the building at a later date.
“We are delighted to welcome Amazon India to Godrej Two and look forward to further strengthening this partnership across our office portfolio,” said Godrej Fund Management’s managing director and CEO Karan Bolaria, ET Bureau reported. “This deal is a further validation of our funds’ investment strategy that is focused on creating a portfolio of world-class office buildings across the country.”
Amazon India already occupies around 40,000 square feet of office space in adjoining building Godrej One. Both buildings are part of mixed-use development project ‘The Trees’.
Amazon is continuing to scale up its presence in India and launched a new fulfilment centre in West Bengal last month. In September, the business took steps to expand its infrastructure in Tamil Nadu and opened two fulfilment centres in Telangana.
