Amazon India to host ‘Smbhav’ summit for small businesses

E-commerce major Amazon India will host a two-day summit ‘Amazon Smbhav’ for small businesses across India on January 15 and 16 in New Delhi.
 

The Smbhav summit will provide small and medium businesses in India a deeper insight into various aspects of the e-commerce sector through various training sessions.
 
The summit will see participation by sellers, vendors, service providers, logistics solution providers, technology solution companies, start-ups, among many others.

Commenting on the Smbhav event, Gopal Pillai, vice president seller services of Amazon India in a statement said: “Small businesses are the backbone of the Indian economy, contributing to the growth, and embodying the entrepreneurial spirit of Indians. All key stakeholders must come together to support the growth and scale of these businesses.
 
“Amazon India is committed to helping these businesses achieve access to a larger audience, thus empowering them to grow and succeed at a fast pace. Amazon Smbhav will serve as a platform for them to gain the knowledge and achieve that scale - directly from successful industry leaders,” Pillai added.
 
With events like these, Amazon aims to help small businesses grow in line with the government’s “Make in India” campaign. Amazon India currently has over five lakh sellers selling on its platform.
