After commissioning a survey by information, data, and market measurement firm Nielsen, Amazon India found that over 40% of its small and medium business sellers expect their business to grow by 50% during the upcoming festive sale season, the business announced on September 21, the Press Trust of India reported. The aim of the survey was to understand the needs of SMBs on its platforms during the upcoming sale season, according to the e-commerce giant.

“This festive season, we continue to strongly prioritise efforts to enable sellers to bounce back from the economic disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and accelerate their business growth,” said Amazon India’s director for selling service partners, Sumit Sahay, the Press Trust of India reported.

The Nielsen survey also found that 28% of surveyed Amazon India sellers are planning to launch new products this festive season. One in four surveyed sellers expects to see their business growth double during the festive sale season and over 50% of sellers expects at least 25% growth.

Of the 1,965 surveyed sellers, around 35% plan to invest in seasonal hiring to meet festive demand. Moreover, around 36% of surveyed sellers are investing in ameliorating their warehousing and inventory and 31% plan to make additional investments to achieve their business goals. A further 45% of SMBs said they will invest in training their personnel to handle increased demand during the sales.
