Through this partnership, MSMEs in India will be able to sell their products to Amazon’s customer base in India and abroad through its e-commerce platform.

Amazon will also train MSMEs and impart knowledge on how to sell online to different markets and help boost their sales. They will be trained in areas such as brand building, documentation, listing methodology and services such as fulfilment by Amazon, and sponsored ads.

Commenting on the partnership, Gopal Pillai, director of seller services at Amazon India, said: “Through our partnership, we will work closely with FISME members to develop innovative business models that will help MSMEs to accelerate their growth further by leveraging the opportunities in the e-commerce sector - positively impacting the Indian economy. Furthermore, unique products sold by the MSMEs will also empower our customers to have access to increased selection.”

Anil Bhardwaj, secretary general at FISME, added, “Partnership with Amazon India gives us the opportunity to use our extensive network for the development of Indian MSME’s. Through this partnership, we aim to empower our members and partner associations on various trade-related opportunities that are present in the market.”

Amazon will also be hosting its first 'Small Business Day' event on December 16 to promote the small and mid-size enterprises and micro-entrepreneurs in the country.
