Amazon India boosts Telangana logistics space to 650,000 square feet with new Hyderabad lease

Amazon India has signed a new lease for 240,000 square feet of logistics space in Hyderabad bringing its total space in Telangana to 650,000 square feet. The increased space will allow the business to continue its India expansion.

Sources told ET Bureau that Amazon has greatly expanded its Telangana logistics capacity with a new Hyderabad space that will be available this year. Amazon did not confirm the news, but said in a statement to ET Bureau: “Amazon is focused on building a strong and robust fulfilment network in India and continues to invest significantly in technology, logistics and infrastructure as well as in seller enablement.”

Amazon India also uses logistics space in the aerospace and industrial cluster GMR Hyderabad Logistic Park. The space is located at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. Amazon India is one of GMR’s main clients in the logistics park. 

Amazon India is increasing its storage capacity as it bring on board more sellers. Amazon India currently has over 50 fulfilment centres in 13 states including in cities Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, and Bengaluru. The business also committed to investing $5 billion on India expansion.
