After only holding her position for just over a year, Lisa Gersh is stepping down from her role as CEO of Alexander Wang.

Representatives from Alexander Wang, Inc.'s New York headquarters have confirmed Gersh's exit to FashionNetwork.com

Gersh began her role as the brand's CEO after designer Alexander Wang stepped down from the position himself last year. As part of a move to diversify the brand's executive team, Gersh was set to helm the brand as it expanded into what Wang called "new categories and territories."

Previously, Gersh served as the CEO of Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle brand Goop from 2014 to 2016, in addition to serving as CEO and president of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia from 2011 to 2013.

Gersh is also currently a member of the Board at Hasbro. She has yet to give a personal announcement of her exit.

This development marks yet another change at the brand, which made waves in the industry with its decision to abandon the fashion calendar earlier this year. The Spring/Summer 2019 collection debuted in June, rather than the traditional September.

Alexander Wang continues to serve as the brand's chairman and creative director. He will resume serving as CEO until a replacement for Gersh can been found.
