British luxury label Alexander McQueen has named Stacy Van Praagh to the role of President for the Americas, where she will report to CEO Emmanuel Gintzburger. The appointment is effective 11 September 2017. Van Praagh succeeds Liz Radler, who is departing after 7 years in order to ‘pursue new interests outside the Kering Group.’

Van Praagh will bring a wealth of experience to the role, having held senior executive positions over the past 20 years at noted fashion houses including Oscar de la Renta and Chanel as Director of Ready-to-Wear. She previously served at Fendi as President of the Americas and later founded her own consultancy firm, SSVP Fashion Consulting.

The industry veteran will be instrumental in boosting the Americas business expansion at the British label: ‘As part of the recent reorganisation of the house, Stacy will hold a strategic role in the acceleration of the international development,’ Gintzburger said.

Alexander McQueen is a subsidiary of French luxury and lifestyle group Kering. The group’s CFO Jean-Marc Duplaix noted in July that the house had seen "a good level of profitability” in the first half of 2017 .
